Veterinary Referral Hospital is pleased to announce their accreditation as a Level II emergency and critical care hospital.
The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) accredits veterinary facilities that show they have the skill, experience and equipment to provide advanced emergency care, ICU care and diagnostics for critically ill pets. VECCS accreditation holds veterinary hospitals to a higher standard and raises the standard of care for pets in need of life saving care. There are only a handful of hospitals throughout the country with this achievement and Veterinary Referral Hospital of Hickory is proud to be one of them. “We are the only VECCS certified center in Western North Carolina with a board certified specialists in critical care, internal medicine and surgery at the helm” states Sharon Finster, DVM, DACVECC the Director of Emergency and Critical Care services.
VECCS identifies a Level II center as a 24 hour acute emergency and critical care facility with the medical staff, personnel and training necessary to provide advanced care and state of the art diagnostics for your pets. Veterinary Referral Hospital of Hickory is open to receive small animal emergency and critical care patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
